Capacity Building Essential Training Underway
A five days training is in progress at Bahir Dar town aimed at building local capacity indispensable to run malaria forecasting project through knowledge sharing and skill transfer. Participants (18), all professionals, are selected from Bahirdar University College of Medicine and Health Science, Bahir Dar University, SIMS, Amhara Regional Health Bureau and Amhara Regional Public Health Institute. This essential training is organized by HDAMA in collaboration with the EPIDEMIA research principal investigator, Professor Michael C. Wimberley from University of Oklahoma and his two co-workers. The ultimate purpose of this training is to support the Public Health Management System in Amhara Regional Health Bureau through sustainable utilization of research gains (malaria epidemic early detection and forecasting) managed by local expertise with minimal or no external support.
