This project aims to create policymakers and public awareness
about the devastating health impacts of consuming industrially
produced Trans Fatty Acids (TFA) and the critical need for reviewing,
updating, and enforcing the implementation of legislative regulatory
measures. The ultimate goal is to ensure the Elimination of
industrially produced Trans Fatty Acid (TFA) from the food supply by
taking a series of appropriate measures by all concerned in the
country. Effective communication and media campaigns a key
strategies for realizing the project objective. The major objective of
this project is to promote the Elimination of industrially produced
Trans Fatty Acids (TFA) from the food supply in Ethiopia through
awareness creation and implementation of regulatory measures by
building the capacity of the policymakers, creating awareness of the
public on the harms of consumption of industrially processed foods,
and engage media to create an enabling environment for sustained
elimination of trans fat through public awareness creation campaign
support for eliminating trans-fat from the food supply in Ethiopia.
The Health, Development and Anti-malaria Association /HDAMA/ was established on August 23,1998 by Volunteers who were deeply concerned about the increasing problem of malaria and its high morbidity and mortality in Ethiopia. HDAMA has been officially registered as an indigenous NGO
