The Health Development and Anti-malaria Association.

The Health, Development, and Anti-Malaria Association (HDAMA) is a Civil Society Organization, which was first established in 1998 to respond to the devastating malaria outbreak.
For more than 25 years HDAMA has managed complex, multi-sector, and multi-year relief, rehabilitation, and development projects, under bilateral and multilateral program agreements that annually assist more than 5 million of the country’s poorest, most vulnerable people in Amhara region and Addis Ababa

What we do ?

HDAMA has managed complex, multi-sector, and multi-year relief, rehabilitation, and development projects, under bilateral and multilateral program agreements that annually assist more than 3 million of the country’s poorest, most vulnerable people in Amhara region and Addis Ababa with government and different local and international partners.
HDAMA focuses on:

Adolescent Youth and sexual reproductive Health

Providing information, awareness raising, and advocacy campaigns, on utilization of quality SRH and SGBV services to the vulnerable groups, improving accessibility and availability of integrated packages of SRH services, institutions, and social environment, strengthening and effectively respond to the rights and needs of vulnerable groups; and enhance networking, partnership, collaboration, and engagement of stakeholders.

Health

providing health information, capacity building, awareness raising, advocacy campaign, SBCC, and community mobilization on prevention and control of Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Non-communicable diseases, Neglected tropical diseases and WASH

Economic Empowerment

Provide skills training for economic empowerment; create jobs and employment opportunities for vulnerable youth and women, Facilitate access to finance, training, market, and linkages for micro and small enterprises

Education

HDAMA has provided support to girls, particularly to vulnerable children, and supported over 160 vulnerable girls to pursue secondary education in a group home.

Community Mobilization

HDAMA is also known for its strong existing grassroots structures and the rich capacity that mobilizes the community currently Hdama is the leading civil society organization next to The Ethiopian Redcross with more than 260,000 me, members and 3,000 volunteers

Humanitarian and Emergency Responses

Providing need-based material support to internally displaced people who are forced to leave their homes due to conflict, violence, and human rights violations. We provided children formula milk, blankets, clothing, mattresses, carpets, and sanitary pads to people displaced by the war:

Engaging boys and men

Mental health

Providing psycho-social support and psychological first aid that aims to promote and protect the psychosocial well-being of internally displaced persons through volunteering.

In 2020 HDAMA distributed emergency supplies to nearly 45,000 people.

HDAMA’s Emergency Response /IDP Support

South Wollo- Dessie, Kombolcha, and Sekota Shelters-

-We provided food items, clothing, blankets, Mattress, Carpets Sanitary Padswho have been forced to leave their homes by the war from North Wollo and Waghemra zones

East Gojjam /Finoteselam and Bure Shelter

HDAMA provided in-kind support (food Items and clothing) to distribute emergency supplies who have been forced to leave their home because of internal conflicts in Wollega and Benishangul.

South Gonder- Ebnat and Zenzelma Shelter

HDAMA provided in-kind support for displaced people during the war.
